In the novel, Suyuan has just passed away, but in June's chapters she gives

Suyuan grew up in Kweilin, an Asian country, had a life and family. One day
the Japanese started bombing the area due to World War II. They destroyed most of the city. This resulted in Suyuan

way, she had to leave her babies on the side of the road with some money to pay for anyone who would find them.
She went to the United States, and started a new life for herself in San Francisco.
She remarried and had another girl name Jing-Mei "June".Suyuan Woo started The Joy Luck Club. | | |
